G&D – Cooling from Waste Heat
MEET THE INNOVATION
- G&D is an industrial device that converts waste heat from the facility into cold water. The produced cold water can be used for process cooling or air conditioning purposes. G&D operates without electricity consumption.
- Our aim with G&D is to make the waste heat of the facilities useful and provide cooling without electricity. In this way, cooling can be provided without leaving a carbon footprint, and annual CO2 emissions will be reduced by 1000 tons/year even with a single G&D compared to existing electrically operated HVAC systems.
G&D is an adsorption chiller but differs from existing adsorption chillers on the market for the following reasons
MEET THE INNOVATION
- G&D has an innovative adsorber (bed) design and is therefore smaller in size and weight than its alternatives.
- Unfortunately, existing adsorption chillers have limited usage areas as they operate at high flow rates of around 60-70 m3/hour at temperatures of 85-90oC with waste heat. However, G&D, developed with 20 years of academic experience, can work efficiently with water whose temperature is 50-90oC and whose mass flow rate is 3-5 m3/hour.
- G&D is a system that can adapt to systems with different flow rates and temperatures. This makes its use flexible in different application areas.
- It is produced with high vacuum technology and is leak-proof.
- G&D uses water as a coolant and has silica gel in its adsorbers. Therefore, it is a completely environmentally friendly cooling group.
